Beau Starr, an actor known for his roles in both Goodfellas and the Halloween series, has sadly passed away at the age of 81.
The news was confirmed by his younger brother and fellow actor, Mike Starr, who revealed that Beau died peacefully of natural causes on April 24, 2026, at his residence in Vancouver, Canada.
Before embarking on his acting journey, Queens-born Starr (born Sept 1, 1944) initially pursued a career in American Football, playing for the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes, and spending three seasons on the taxi squad of the New York Jets.
Goodfellas co-star Christopher Serrone honored Starr, describing him as a “great guy” who led a “rich and meaningful life” as a family man, actor, and athlete.
He started his acting career in his mid-30s, making his on-screen debut in a Canadian sketch show in 1980.
However, it was on the big screen that Starr landed his most unforgettable roles. He appeared alongside stars like Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, and Joe Pesci in the legendary mafia film Goodfellas, portraying the character of Henry Hill’s father.
Starr later took on the role of Sheriff Ben Meeker in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.
